Redevelopment Deadline Looms

The Governor declared flatly on Tuesday he was not interested in an extension, saying “we can’t delay this funeral,” and vowing to veto any legislation to extend. Meanwhile, SB 654 (Steinberg), which will protect unencumbered balances in agencies’ low-mod funds, continued to move forward in the Senate with bi-partisan support. In the absence of this fix, those badly needed housing funds would be lost.
